Election campaigns are expensive and only Hampstead residents are permitted to contribute. However, the Quebec government encourages contributions by refunding 75% of your contribution up to a maximum of $140. In 2005, residents donated over $10,000 to my campaign, almost all in amounts of $140 or $100. Should I raise more than I spend, the excess will be donated to a registered charity or to the Town of Hampstead.
